PhillyMINI Four Dogs Run

Jim and I participated in PhillyMINI's Four Dogs Run on July 9, 2006 for a spirited two hour run through some twisty backroads of PA ending with a great lunch and good company at the Four Dogs Tavern. Molly and hazel did very well both on the run and at the restuarant, even garnering some comments “you have very well behaved dogs!”

Pookmail.com: Disposable email addresses

Pookmail.com is a free email service that offers you any email address you'd like (@pookmail.com) to send email to and keeps the inbox contents around for 24 hours. This is great for anyone who has created a website with email registrations and needed a batch of email addresses to test with. Of course, expect to see quite a bit of spam in the inbox, but who cares. What a great idea!

My New MINI Cooper S

Last Thursday, May 11 I bid a fond farewell to my PT Cruiser that has given me almost 6 years of reliable service and transportation. In it's place is a MINI Cooper S in chili red. I couldn't stop thinking about this car after the first test drive. It really is like driving a go cart on the street. The inside is very posh with just enough retro treatments to please the eye. I look forward to driving it every day.

It performed admirably taking Jim, myself, Molly and Hazel (yes, the dogs fit too) in mini-style to Rehoboth, Bethany and Ocean View for Mother's Day weekend where we found lots of twisty, turny back roads to motor on. If you have a chance to drive one, do it.

Use solar energy now: hang your clothes to dry outside

Why is it sometimes the most obvious escapes us? A quick way to save money on your energy bill today is to start hanging your laundry outside to dry instead of using the clothes dryer. I found it very rewarding this weekend after I successfully dried six loads of laundry outside, each taking about the same time my clothes dryer did (about 45 minutes). The clothes all smelled wonderful (helped I'm sure by the blooming wisteria on our deck) and the sheets and t-shirts dried without wrinkles. It's a tried and true method that our grandmothers and possibly mothers relied on for so many years.
