Umunhum.  The day started out party sunny with a forcast of rain so we decided to get started early in hopes of making the best of the day before it started to rain.  We were rewarded with a fairly nice day, albiet a bit windy.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.biosrhythm.com\/wp-content\/images\/hicks_rd_bridge.jpg\" width=\"399\" height=\"266\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>We made a road side stop that overlooks the Guadalupe reservoir which was low as it is usually at this time of year.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.biosrhythm.com\/wp-content\/images\/guadalupe_pauljim.jpg\" width=\"399\" height=\"266\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>We noticed that at the bottom of the reservoir was an old VW Beetle.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.biosrhythm.com\/wp-content\/images\/guadalupe_resv.jpg\" width=\"399\" height=\"266\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>We eventually made to Mt Umunhum Rd where we could go no further.  <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mount_Umunhum\" >The summit<\/a> was at one time used by the US Air Force as part of an early warning radar system, the base of which can still be seen.  Jim snapped a few photos.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.biosrhythm.com\/wp-content\/images\/sierra_azul_paul.jpg\" width=\"399\" height=\"266\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>On the way back, we passed a restaurant that was a bit out of place called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.laforetrestaurant.com\/\" >La Foret<\/a> on Bertram Rd.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.biosrhythm.com\/wp-content\/images\/la_forte.jpg\" width=\"399\" height=\"266\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Friday, we took a ride up Hicks Rd in Los Gatos towards Mt.
