{"id":525,"date":"2006-12-18T00:51:09","date_gmt":"2006-12-18T04:51:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mini.local\/blog\/index.php?entry=entry061217-235109"},"modified":"2006-12-18T00:51:09","modified_gmt":"2006-12-18T04:51:09","slug":"more-from-the-monterey-bay-aquarium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biosrhythm.com\/?p=525","title":{"rendered":"More from the Monterey Bay Aquarium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here are some more photos taken at the Monterey Bay Aquarium on our recent visit to California.<\/p>\n<p>The lovable sea otters; playful like dogs and they eat on their backs.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.biosrhythm.com\/wp-content\/images\/monterey-aquarium01.jpg\" width=\"484\" height=\"321\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>The kelp forest tank, which gently sways back and forth to simulate the wave action.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.biosrhythm.com\/wp-content\/images\/monterey-aquarium02.jpg\" width=\"332\" height=\"500\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>The octopus; visitors are asked not to flash the octopus so this made for a tricky shot.  I steadied the camera with my hands on the lens and the glass of the tank and took several shots.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.biosrhythm.com\/wp-content\/images\/monterey-aquarium03.jpg\" width=\"484\" height=\"321\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>Two sea annemones, spectacular coloring.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.biosrhythm.com\/wp-content\/images\/monterey-aquarium04.jpg\" width=\"484\" height=\"321\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.biosrhythm.com\/wp-content\/images\/monterey-aquarium05.jpg\" width=\"332\" height=\"500\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>Perhaps the most dazzling exhibit in the whole aquarium, the jelly fish tanks.  Although I&#039;m not certain, I think they are illuminated with UV or black lights as there was a tank where you could press a button to see what they look like in their natural environment (i.e. turn off the light).<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.biosrhythm.com\/wp-content\/images\/monterey-aquarium06.jpg\" width=\"484\" height=\"321\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ocean_Sunfish\" >The sunfish.<\/a> Located in the outer bay tank, the sunfish is very large, slow moving and totally cool.  It was being fed while we were there.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.biosrhythm.com\/wp-content\/images\/monterey-aquarium07.jpg\" width=\"484\" height=\"321\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>Outside of the aquarium, &#8220;Cannery Row&#8221; in Monterey once famous for sardines.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.biosrhythm.com\/wp-content\/images\/monterey-aquarium08.jpg\" width=\"484\" height=\"321\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here are some more photos taken at the Monterey Bay Aquarium on our recent visit to California.
